Changelog.
October 2026
8 October 2026
The map's search gained a Place mode: type any town, landmark or shop — a Coles, a rest area, the Opera House — pick it from the list, and Apply recentres the map and finds the cheapest fuel around it. Home location can be set from a place pick too.
8 October 2026
WA stations now list opening hours day by day, today highlighted, with an 'Open now', 'Closing soon' or 'Closed' badge worked out in Perth time. Map popups gained a Details button opening the station drawer. Phones are tappable. Stations without published hours look as before.
6 October 2026
NSW, ACT and Tasmania prices all arrive via the OneGov API, and the station badges now name each feed by its real service (Servo Saver for Victoria, FuelWatch for WA). The Attribution page spells out each source's licence and terms.
5 October 2026
NSW/ACT price updates briefly stopped when Sydney's clocks jumped forward at the start of daylight saving. We fixed how those clock changes are handled, so prices keep refreshing every 20 minutes through the switch-over week.
cfe4b025 October 2026
You can now Tab to a station in the station tables and press Enter (or Space) to open its full details — reaching a station's price history, site features and freshness no longer needs a mouse.
4 October 2026
Price-trend charts are up to ~60× faster thanks to pre-computed daily totals in the database. Chart endpoints now line up with whole UTC days, so a window starting mid-day shows that full day's prices — chart points are always complete calendar days.
3 October 2026
Tasmania is live: 290+ service stations with current prices from FuelCheck Tasmania, under the Tasmanian Fuel Code of Practice. Stations in the Australian Capital Territory now show correctly as ACT, not NSW, and filter properly. NSW/ACT prices now credit FuelCheck via OneGov.
September 2026
29 September 2026
Tapping a station on the map or in the table now opens full details: all listed fuel prices with fuel-type badges, site features and restrictions where published, and price freshness at a glance.
c7b6cf9c796a6e58473b06710954a635c9d5f68f4129 September 2026
Stations that stop reporting to their data feed are now detected automatically, and their stale prices are hidden until they reappear — you won't be sent to a servo with an out-of-date price.
46d0d6afb80e73a8f9e6329 September 2026
Prices now show as a simple number with the cents-per-litre unit in the column header, prices never get cut off at narrow widths, and popup price chips match the app theme in both colour schemes.
5a2a42bef6562b4d425637b2190757ecceee578da725 September 2026
An update had silently stripped all street and place labels from the map and occasionally crashed /map and /stations on load. Labels are back, and a guard keeps the pages rendering.
35fde0ce86655ed20767225 September 2026
We rebuilt how station and price data is fetched and delivered: map markers, station tables, and charts typically load three to ten times faster than before.
65c5e3a460580021 September 2026
New visitors are now asked for their home location and then their default fuel type one at a time, instead of both popups appearing at once.
2949c204 September 2026
Fuel Wizard now covers Victoria (Service Victoria Servo Saver) and Western Australia (FuelWatch) alongside NSW — station search, maps, and charts work state-wide, and suburb options show their state.
df14ccb4b69e36ddf96db0eaa0ac7e68b03ca720b406b9dbdAugust 2026
28 August 2026
Pages now carry proper titles, descriptions, structured data, and share previews, plus a sitemap and app manifest — searching for a fuel price tool should now find Fuel Wizard.
02d772762ec65b6417898b15c9c227 August 2026
When something goes wrong you now get a plain-language notification or error page instead of a blank screen or a stack of console errors, including when tiles or route services are unreachable.
8e85c01b50e88912d46c724 August 2026
Your home location, fuel type, and map preferences are remembered properly now: pages appear already filled in with your data, and your setup follows you between tabs and devices.
fa4b5c6ea15085ada1421f311ec2f08f3191254c2519 August 2026
The map, charts, and stations pages share one tidy filter panel instead of a sprawl of loose inputs, making each page quicker to scan on desktop and phone alike.
62847abcf83e5ccc9cf148c6ade915 August 2026
The map now runs on our own self-hosted OpenStreetMap tiles with selectable styles (Basic, Light, Dark, and more). Your choice is remembered between visits.
89bbf5ac619f42d8ac53d11 August 2026
You can now search prices by suburb as well as by radius: pick a suburb boundary, set a home suburb with one tap, and the map and charts pages toggle between the two search modes.
2d6e41a51d2a5c9b4342fda1f32d96bc902d3802db03a8b5b8 August 2026
Suburb boundary data now refreshes from the current government data source, updates are applied atomically, and a broken query that periodically blanked suburb search has been fixed.
5901640b0ae07a96a0fd932f61c16 August 2026
Route planning between stations now shows natural-language turn instructions ('Turn left onto...'), and clearly says so when a route can't be found.
6216a6fJuly 2026
28 July 2026
Fixed a class of bugs where scheduled fuel price updates silently stopped running or new price entries collided, and database upgrades now apply automatically on deploy.
7217219a9c08c23bc325cApril 2026
15 April 2026
Fixed nagging errors that could leave pages stuck or blank after navigation, and retuned the map tiles for dark mode so streets and labels read clearly at night.
2af377ce700c66February 2026
17 February 2026
The map now draws from a tile server we operate ourselves instead of borrowing OpenStreetMap's public servers — the map loads faster and no longer depends on third-party capacity.
1049706June 2025
15 June 2025
A proper mobile layout arrived for the map, stations, and charts pages — usable tables, sensible map heights, and controls that fit small screens.
6cdd95f034e27300feaa1b09e604482d831May 2025
4 May 2025
Finding stations with prices near you was rebuilt from the ground up for speed, and clicking a station row now glides the map straight to it.
2109fece054331April 2025
28 April 2025
You can now plot a route between two points on the map and see stations along the way, with a route summary.
5d4f716fb52e41125e68d12 April 2025
New users are walked through choosing a location and fuel type instead of landing on an empty, error-covered page.
5807a2c11 April 2025
Stations that no longer appear in the official reference data are automatically retired from the site, so you're not sent to a servo that shut down.
a03c3376bba870March 2025
5 March 2025
Select stations on the charts page to see their daily price history, search for a station by name, and click anywhere on the map to set your search location.
ec810eca5642ca43208716b3daa31 March 2025
The charts page shows daily average fuel prices within your search radius, so you can tell whether to fill up today or wait.
7059634ebbc49bFebruary 2025
9 February 2025
The app now opens in dark mode, matching what most people expect, with the light theme still one click away.
0217ed97 February 2025
Added data attribution, contact, legal, and developer pages — where our government data comes from, how to reach us, and how to use the API.
917597eb09a49a7e7ece85ad493a21cc4ecJanuary 2025
8 January 2025
Stations with prices now sit beside the map in a paginated table, the map centres on your chosen suburb, and the page layout was unified with the rest of the app.
ff6f2f3d8db75209c261cDecember 2024
27 December 2024
Distance from your location now shows in the station tables, your search radius is drawn as a circle on the map, and the fuel-type list leads with common fuels.
18897693c1f9680fec99e2f59a697 December 2024
Suburb boundaries are drawn on the map and you can jump to any suburb by name from the location picker.
3ba183d0fd29b8bd0a44dNovember 2024
16 November 2024
Set a default fuel type and a home location with a search radius once — every page picks them up from then on.
2641232a9e78a70167e472acbf6bOctober 2024
30 October 2024
Live NSW fuel prices from the government Fuel API, browsable as a station table with current prices per fuel type, refreshed automatically throughout the day.
