The fuel price data shown in this application is provided by third-party government sources and comes with no warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any fuel data, and we are not responsible for decisions made using it.

Privacy is a human right.

We do not collect, analyse, or sell any of your personal information or data. We are not interested in collecting, analysing, or selling any of your personal information or data. We are not affiliated with any third-parties who are interested in collecting, analysing, or selling any of your personal information or data.

We provide this application to you free of charge, and ask only that you use it responsibly and ethically. We will never be interested in your personal information, and we will never change our stance on this. If, in the future, we add features or functionality which traditionally require the handling of personal information, we will engineer these features in a way that does not require this.

We want this application to serve as an example of the traditional spirit of the internet; the free exchange of data between enthusiasts. We want to demonstrate the ability to provide valuable services to our users, without compromising their fundamental right to privacy, and without squeezing money from them.

We store a very limited amount of data on your browser when you visit this site. Your preferences — home location, home suburb, and default fuel type — are stored in a first-party cookie so the site can render your personalised view on the server. This cookie is sent to our servers with each page request, expires after 365 days, and can be cleared at any time in your browser's settings or developer tools. The API receives this cookie with requests but does not read it. Your dark/light mode preference and map style are stored using your browser's local storage API. You can freely inspect all of this in the developer tools of your browser. We do not use this data for any purpose other than rendering the site you asked for, and it is never shared with third parties.

We do not log sensitive data from requests to the API (so location data, etc. is safe). Our web server may log IP addresses from time to time, if a client is rate limited. Commercial usage.

This application is designed with personal use, and individual users as our focus. Being licensed as free software, we do not explicitly restrict commercial usage of this application, however, we would like to work with any prospective commercial users. If you wish to use this application in your business, please get in touch with us so that we can discuss potential feature updates and improvements. If you do use this application in a revenue-generating setting, please consider donating to us to help fund further development efforts.

API usage.

Our API is free, unauthenticated, and open. We have Open API documentation available. For individuals, you may consume from our API, as long as you do not attempt to circumvent the built-in rate limiting. The rate limits we have defined are generous, and we ask that you do not abuse the API with copious requests, as we self-host the application, and need to maintain a quality service for all users.
